Today, almost all manufacturing project requires the use
of stainless
steel cold rolled sheet. The reason is quite simple. Stainless steel sheets have high
tensile strength, better durability and deliver a great finish. The best part
about using them is low maintenance which has positioned it as a superior
alternative to traditional steel.
Buyers usually keep three main factors in mind while deciding to
buy stainless steel sheets. The first and foremost is - grade, then size and
finally the overall finish.
The three most common stainless steel grades available are 304,
316, and 410. Experts say that Grade 304 is the most common of the above
mentioned grades. It offers good corrosion resistance while maintaining its
core quality and durability intact. It can also be noted that grade 303 is not
available in the sheet form.
The thickness of stainless steel sheets is normally between
0.4mm and 2.5mm. In case someone has a requirement of any proportion less than
this, then, they are probably referring to a foil, on the other hand any
requirement of more than 3mm and above qualify for a plate.
As far as the finish is concerned, the stainless steel cold
rolled sheet produced is first rolled into the required size and thickness and
then made to pass through highly polished rollers before a final finish is
delivered.
The finishing process involved is somewhat complicated and there
are dozens of patterns available in the market.
The most common finish is brushed finish which delivers a
pattern of very fine lines made up of small scratches appearing in a
unidirectional way. Another one is satin finish where in scratch-brushing is
used to produce a soft sheen. Last but not the least, the mirror polishing
gives the sheet a highly polished reflective surface.
Overall the stainless steel sheets are in great demand due to
rapid western style urbanization.
Many manufacturers prefer these sheets over other material as
they consider it as a perfect fit for anything from resurfacing counter tops,
or appliances, or for a complete makeover of a structure.
As competition is getting
more intense, most of these steel sheets suppliers and manufactures are coming
online in an effort to trade through B2b portals. Online marketing gives them
better exposure especially to the overseas market at a fraction of a cost.
Overall the stainless steel sheets suppliers are all set for a better
performance in the next financial year.
